The 2013 Sustainability Tour was presented by the San Diego Renewable Energy Society (SDRES) with support from the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, inspired by  immediate-past County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price via the County of San Diego’s Neighborhood Reinvestment Program.  With a theme of “Be Sustainably Inspired,” San Diego’s 13th Sustainability Tour showcased a “Sweet 16” of unique energy efficiency and solar applications in the residential, educational and commercial space.

The tour took place on September 20-21, 2013 (the eve of the Autumnal Equinox), offering home owners, property owners, business owners, representatives of public agencies and educators the opportunity to talk with fellow property owners and solar experts County-wide about the innovative solutions they are employing to
1) improve property values,
2) slash utility bills,
3) fuel their electric vehicles,
4) recoup their tax dollars via tax credits and state rebates,
5) create green jobs and
6) assert their energy independence

-- all while sustaining San Diego's sublime quality of life.

Traditionally, a whopping 72% of those who take the tour consider themselves ready to purchase energy efficiency or renewable energy solutions.

The 2013 San Diego Sustainability Tour

"These tours are an effective way for folks to see first-hand how solar works, while speaking with licensed, qualified professionals who can educate them on technological innovations, installation processes and the rich economic incentives today's solar PV, solar water heating and energy efficiency solutions deliver."
